PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Filters adsorb the following unwanted elements found in drinking water:
- Fluoride: Sodium Fluoride, Sodium Fluorosilicate, Fluorosilicic Acid (aka Hydrofluorosilic Acid): Testing for fluoride was based on 20-30ppm of the ion in the influent aqueous solution at a flow rate of no more than 3 gpm per cubic foot of media. Results of ‹1ppm of the fluoride ion in the effluent were typical for the media (>95% reduction). Under optimum conditions, effluent concentrations of less than 50 ppb were readily achieved (>99.75% reduction).
- Arsenic: V and pre-oxidized Arsenic III: This product uniquely targets the entire family of arsenic oxide anions as well as the arsenic cations.
- Other residual heavy metal ions
Made from safe, non-leaching Polypropolene #5 that is BPA-free.
PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic reduction Filters are designed to be used in conjunction with the Black Berkey Purification Elements only.
Number of PF-2s in the bottom chamber must match the number of Black Berkey Purification Elements in the top chamber; for example, 4 Black Berkey Purification elements would require 4 PF-2 Filters.
The Berkey PF-2™ Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Filters are covered under a six month warranty.
Under normal conditions it is recommended that each set of two PF-2 elements be replaced after 1,000 gallons (The Berkey Light™ is 2.5 gallons therefore the PF-2 filters should be replaced after 400 refills.
If the system is refilled about one time per day, the PF-2’s should be replaced annually, if the system is refilled about twice per day, the PF-2’s should be replaced about every six months). Actual capacity is dependent on the presence of other competing contaminants in the source water. High levels of Fluoride, arsenic and heavy metals may reduce the capacity and efficiency of the elements.

Returns must be sent in the sealed, unopened, original packaging, in new condition and with all original content. If a returned item is determined free of manufacturing defects and re-sellable by us in new condition, then a minimum restocking fee of 15% of the full retail price will be applied and the remaining balance may be refunded.
If you are requesting a refund on the basis of (1) damage in shipping or (2) a manufacturer defect, you must call us and let us know within 3 business days of receiving your order.
We reserve the right to first file a claim with the shipping company and/or arrange a replacement of the damaged/defective part(s) before pursuing a refund. If you are requesting a refund for any other reason, then please contact us within 3 business days of receiving your order and after reviewing our returns policy. Refunds requested for any other reason other than specified above will be determined on a case-by-case basis and will incur a restocking-fee, with return shipping to be covered by the customer.
In the event that we authorize a refund, detailed instructions will follow on a case-by-case basis. The refund process can take several days and is offered as a courtesy at our discretion. Refunds will not be issued for used, misused/improper handling or operation of products.
